Miggy's DDs Are 2011 World Champions of Fantasy Baseball

Heading into the final week of the season, the DD's were in 6th Place. Now they are World Champs.

The DDs completed a stunning comeback on Sunday to win their first championship. After the Dynasty jumped out to an big early week lead, the DDs stormed back Friday night with 6 starts that gave them the lead. As this was happening, TMZ caught the Dynasty's manager at a local establishment, celebrating his impending victory a bit prematurely. The Dynasty regrouped on Saturday and the matchup was incredibly close heading into the final day. In fact, the matchup was deadlocked heading into the DD's final at bat with The Dynasty owning the tiebreak. In the top of the 9th inning in the final at bat of the DD's season, Elvis Andrus hit a double that tied doubles and gave the DD's a 6-5 lead. The Dynasty was still alive needing a Hunter Pence double or a Jason Motte save in Sunday Night Baseball, but both came up empty. Miggy's DDs celebrated their first World Championship.

The DD's victory was not without luck and controversy. Somehow, The Dynasty left 3 starters on the bench on the final day of the championship. Those starters would have easily given The Dynasty the championship. It's a shame that a great season went up in flames with a big managerial mistake. Also, the DD's advanced to the championship after playing to a draw with the #2 seed L-Trains. Prior to last year, playoff matchup ties were broken by ERA, a category that the DDs lost to the L-Trains. The new Yahoo tiebreaker is the equally as dumb- winning percentage in regular season matchups with that opponent. The DD's caught the L-Trains on bad weeks and won the season series 20-13, but the L-Trains had the better record in the overall season series 127-113. The L-Trains have petitioned to Yahoo to change the tiebreaker at least to overall seed. Unfortunately, the commissioner has no control over this.
