Week 8 Recap: Regression Meets Trolley Dodgers

Happy Memorial Day everyone - no work means timely recap.

In Rivalry Week #2, three of the four matchups ended just like they did in Week 1. In the other matchup The Rise of Wang became the first team to beat the Trolley Dodgers in a matchup. Not only did they beat them, they killed them 10-2. The Trolley Dodgers lucky streak was bound to end sometime and it was certainly going to end this week as EVERY team beat the Trolley Dodgers decisively. For fun, let's take a look at some of the scores:

Dynasty 11 - TDs 1
GKs 9 - TDs 3
Hitmen 7 - TDs 4
L-Trains 10 - TDs 2
Wangs 10 - TDs 2
OGs 7 - TDs 3
DDs 7 - TDs 4

In other matchups, the DD's posted a 7+ era and lost to the OGs who got Utley and Hamilton back this week. The L-Trains held on to beat the GKs on Sunday despite John Danks' best efforts. The L-Trains were this week's best team as Carl Crawford came back to life and sparked the L-Trains' offense. The GKs finished a close second. And in the father/son matchup, The Dynasty won big thanks in large part to Cano and Adam Dunn.

Here's what you deserved in Week 8:

  1. from now on when people talk about 'the streak', it won't be dimaggio or ripken... it'll be the trolley dodgers decimating the competition for 7 straight
