- Offline Draft at 1965 in early March
- $50 buy-in
- Only add-on will be the draft board (already purchased- ended up costing $41.75 so the prize pool stands at $358.25)
- All stat categories will remain unchanged including doubles
- The playoff format will be the same as last year
The complete voting breakdown is below. As you can see, not everything was resolved by a majority vote. We were split 4-4 on 2 categories: how many keepers for NEXT year and when to disclose our keepers this year. In order to break the tie for the latter, I'm withdrawing my vote because I don't really care either way- I'm keeping Pujols. That means, we will be disclosing our keepers prior to draft day. When we figure out when that is, I'll makeup the time table for picking keepers. (See other post for draft day preference)
As for the "how many keepers?" question, this seems to be a problem every year because of the way we award the first pick to the league champion. There are people in this league who will not vote for keeping two players because they think it will be an unfair advantage for me, since I will be guaranteed two of the best players in the league. So I've come up with a fair solution where no one is guaranteed anything right now. Here it is:

There are people in this league who will not vote for keeping two players because they think it will be an unfair advantage for me, since I will be guaranteed two of the best players in the league. So I've come up with a fair solution where no one is guaranteed anything right now. Here it is:
- In the 2010 draft, we will proceed as planned. Everyone gets one keeper and the draft order is L-Trains, Trolleys, SSHM, Dynasty, GKs, Guillens, Wang, and Brian's Fellows.
- In 2011, we will not change anything - 1 keeper, winner gets first pick, etc.
- In 2012, we will keep 2 players AND we will draft in reverse order (last place first).
If you want to get the best non-keeper as you second keeper, then you have to win the league this year. Winning the league this will set you up pretty well for 2012 because you will get to keep your best player from 2010, draft first in 2011, and get to keep two players at the end of 2011 (presumably, your keeper and first pick). As an added wrinkle, we will no longer award the first pick to the league champion after 2011. This award is no longer necessary since we now have a monetary prize and this move will help restore balance to the league. Otherwise, if the 2010 champ wins in 2011 he would get his two awesome keepers and the first pick in the draft.
If anyone doesn't like this solution, please let me know. I'd be interested to hear your comments. I think this gives everyone a fair shot at the best non-keepers and finally gives us more continuity from year to year.
