Was that trade a real trade? Marlon Byrd was a free agent this morning, right?
We've got two managers without a single closer, one manager with more minor leaguers than starting left fielders, Scott Podsednik is NOT a free agent, and now a 2 year keeper and a solid starting pitcher get traded 3 weeks into the season for a worse pitcher and a player who was plucked from the scrap heap less than 12 hours before the trade?? Have I gone mad? I guess not seeing as the trade was vetoed in under 2 hours.
(Side note: TJ, do you really think anyone is going to pickup Chris Young if you cut him? I get not using the rotating spot on a position player, but an injured Chris Young? really??)
Then again, I do have a 4.99 ERA on the season and I keep running scrubs like Josh Beckett, Jon Lester, and Jake Peavy to the mound to give up 7-8 ER so maybe I am the crazy one.
