All-Star week is like a crapshoot. The short week doesn’t really give you enough time to recover from a bad day, and if you have a pitcher get Wang-ed, you are screwed.
If all-star week is a crapshoot, The Rise of Wang bet big on hard six and nailed it. As you can see from the chart below, the Wangs should have lost 7-3… but instead they won 8-3 to increase their lead over the rest of the league. I am disgusted to award them their 3rd straight Trolley Dodger Award (7th in 15 weeks). Someone please beat them before I put up 12 on them in a few weeks.
Meanwhile, the Ozzie Guillens win a matchup for the first time since week 1! Also, the Trolley Dodgers win streak ends and the Giant Killers can’t buy a win. The second best team this week should have won 7-4, but instead lost 7-4 to this week’s champion the L-Trains. The L-Trains went 7-0 and won the week for the second consecutive week, marking the first time a team has gone 7-0 in matchups in consecutive weeks… and that was with 18 players on the DL. The L-Trains are 9-3-3 in official matchups to lead all teams, and have not lost since mid-May. Be afraid, Wang, I’m coming for you.
