I'm back from the middle of the Pacific with your week 7 and 8 recaps, but before I get there- I just want to say R.I.P. Grady Sizemore. It's been emotional.
I paid very little attention to Fantasy Baseball for these weeks so I don't really know what happened, but based on the results Week 7 was a giant clusterf***. The Dynasty apparently struggled to manage from San Antonio and were the worst team for week 7, going 0-7 in matchups with a .342 winning percentage. Every other team won at least 3 matchups and no one won more than 4. The weekly champion goes to TJ who went 4-1-2 with a .539 winning percentage. One of those ties came to the GKs who had a better winning percentage .550, but lost 2 matchups. 6 teams were above .500 for the week. So congrats TJ for being the worst best team of the year so far and also congrats for missing the Trolley Dodger award by about the same margin. That award goes to the Fellows who were slightly worse than the Trolley Dodgers and managed to win by the same 8-4 margin.
In week 8, both the L-Trains and Wangs went 6-0-1, tying each other while beating everyone else. The L-Trains dominated the offensive categories and posted a team average 5.93 era. As a result the Wangs win the best week award with a .763 winning percentage to the L-Trains .582. The SSHM lost to everyone and were unlucky enough to be playing the Wangs. Just about everyone got what they deserved in week 8, so the Wangs take home another Trolley Dodger Award winning 10-1 and only deserving a modest 9-3 victory.
Interesting to note, the SSHM who are on a little skid and have been dismissed by some managers who I talk to on g-chat *cough* trolley *cough* dodgers *cough*... have played the best team of the week in 3 of the last 4 weeks. The other week, they were the best team. As you can see by the Phil Helmuth standings, they have been unlucky. Wait a minute, who is in 7th if luck wasn't involved? interesting.....
Here are the updated standings:
Note: the winning percentages were taken before rounding for the Hellmuth standings
